⭐ About Petits Pals

About Us

With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, our childcare journey began in 2013, proudly serving families across Newton, Delta, and Cloverdale.

Over the years, we have built strong relationships with families by creating nurturing, welcoming, and engaging environments where children can learn, play, explore, and grow.

In 2026, we proudly expanded our journey to Chilliwack with the opening of Petits Pals Childcare. Our Chilliwack location brings the same experience, care, and commitment to quality early learning that have guided us since 2013.

OUR LEARNING APPROACH

Emergent Curriculum: Child-Initiated, Educator-Facilitated

Our programs follow an emergent curriculum. Rather than working from a fixed lesson plan, our educators observe each child's interests, questions, and reactions to materials, and use those observations to shape what gets planned next. Children lead the direction of their own learning, and educators act as co-learners and guides, building opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity around what each child is already curious about.

This means our classrooms change as the children in them do. A room may look different at the end of a term than it did at the start, as educators introduce new materials or shift the environment in response to what children have shown interest in. This approach works alongside our Reggio Emilia foundation: Reggio Emilia treats children as capable, curious learners and treats the classroom itself as a third teacher, and emergent curriculum is how that philosophy plays out day to day.

Why Families Choose Our Child Care Centre in Chilliwack, BC

Choosing a centre for your child means knowing how ratios work, what a typical day looks like, what the curriculum actually covers, and how fees and subsidies are applied. We publish those details rather than leaving them for a tour.

Our programs follow the Reggio Emilia approach. Children are treated as capable, curious learners. Educators observe each child's interests and document their progress, then adjust the classroom and activities based on those observations, rather than running a fixed lesson plan.

Our environment is designed as a "third teacher," with materials and spaces set up to support exploration on their own.
